Sculpting and modeling

Modeling
I enjoy modeling, even though i don’t have luxury to do it as fulltime job.
I have been modeling organic and mechanical models. I’ve been modeling game levels, game characters, and other models, some for hobby some for commercial use.
Characters
Most of the characters you see in my gallery pages, are personal free-time hobby creations not created for any production. All of the characters on this page are just like this.
Sculpting
This spring i tried cut some time for 3d sculpting. On my gallery you can see more pictures of 3d models i’ve sculpted.
Sculpting is really welcome addition to 3d modeling, i just wish i was made of time, so i could spend more time learning about forms, proportion, anatomy and sculpting tecniques.
3d sculpting is also really nice way to learn about sculpting, when one doesn’t have space, time or money to invest into actual sculpting of real clay or wax, and such. Maybe some day!
About models
All of these models on left were built from scratch by me, i’ve created “base meshes” optimized for sculpting and posing in 3ds Max or in other modeling tools.
After model is finished, i’ve rigged these for posing and then sculpted these models in sculpting tools. Zbrush is trustworthy helper in sculpting related tasks, while not limited to it.
I’ve worked with many modeling-only tools, and also with animation software which include modeling tools.
Software
During years i’ve spent doing 3d i’ve come familiar with modelers like Silo, MudBox and ZBrush.
I’ve also used Lightwave and it’s excellent modeler, 3ds Max is my favourite for modeling inside animation packages.
I’m also somewhat familiar with Maya and XSI modeling tools, yet i don’t have time to use them.
Hope you like these models – please check out my gallery items too (and Olli’s too!)
Thanks!
