Chiller

Hiya,

Here’s a quite fresh render I made a few weeks ago, had a short vacation and forgot to post it to website. Anyway, here it is now… This time I wanted to make a parody of this bit too typical blood’n'guts gasmask nazi imagery that seems to dominate 3d renderings in certain forums etc.
I spent quite a while modeling the character and chainsaw model. Textures took also quite a lot of time to create. I used photos I’ve shot over time. I’ll post bit later a few work in progress links to this same post.

Blog Update

February 18th, 2005

Updated blog software in use (Wordpress) to a new version 1.5! Great work, WP guys!

Anyway, in case there are some anomalies in next few days, they might just be my mistakes in quickly fixed style I made based on my old skin for WP1.2.

Morning Street

Morning Street

Hi all!

It’s been some time since I last posted anything new! For a change this is an architectural / environment study, not a silicon babe this time, in case those irritate some viewers.

This image is called “Morning street”. I got inspiration from a few photos I shot some time ago. I tried to catch atmosphere of a morning when it’s quiet in a small town and there’s not that much traffic or people around.

I modeled this scene in 3dsmax and created all textures from photos I’ve shot, there’s no stock or so called “internet photos” used… I spent most of time modeling details and adjusting texture and bump maps. There’s not much post processing in this one, just slight contrast correction with a s-curve in curves correction layer.

Rapper Realtime Character Concept

January 27th, 2005
20050618_rapper_01.jpg

Hello all!

This is something I was going to do for a company, but then they didn’t need it.
Thought I would show it anyway… as no-one paid for this…
This was dumped already in december but haven’t had time to put it to web.

I kind of left him a bit unfinished a month ago, it was only going to be for pre-viz or similar stuff - Concept I dn’t have anything except generic clothing and no face or any other details, so I had to do colors, details and head.

Images are 3dsmax renders, two spots and shadow maps.

Tyrannosaurus Rex Sub-D Model

January 27th, 2005
20050128_trex_01.jpg

Hello!

This is second of the models I’ve been working on in last few days - It’s a Tyrannosaurus Rex model - Since there was no photo reference to be used a few low resolution of Tamiya plastic T-Rex and a few artist renditions were used as reference… This model too is made of quads and probably work will continue next in Z-Brush.

Idiots

December 24th, 2004

Okey, you asked for it, I didn’t have that many months comments system on, and many enough suckers have started spamming + exploiting the system, so I will close it down for good…

All nice ppl who have used some time to write creative feedback, Merry Christmas and Happy New year!

New New Babe Progress Update

November 21st, 2004

Hmph!

It’s been a struggle again - Wasted too much time on frustrating work hunt last week and re-rendering old stuff for a few magazine features… Anyway - hopefully that wasted time results into something.

New New Babe

Here are a few new test renders - Might look like nothing has changed - I re-shaped mesh flowlines and optimized mesh more and now it skins way more nicely without much of artifacts. I also quickly made a few pieces of clothing for this character so that she doesn’t have to jump around naked…

Renders are just quick hacks of previous test render studio setup. Maybe I’ll next try to work on facial animation setups…etc. Anyway it has to be something that can be recycled easily…

Check the links below to see other poses etc.

New new babe

New New Babe

Late night…Or is it early morning… Hard to say as it’s pitch black here all day long this time of year. Anyway -

Here are a few test renders of a character design I’ve been working on last few days. I started this 2 weeks ago, but work got cut off by a short vacation I had. Something like 8 days so far, most of time went to shaping face + creating hair. I used old body as starting point, but reduced mesh resolution radically to get more easily animatable body. Face took quite a while to get look okeyish…

Boobs might look bit boxy, which is explained by missing clothing that will be there in a few days. I didn’t put anything there right now to hide body right now. I’ll also (maybe) add some morphs to shoulder so that it will look bit more natural, just like that previous character I made. Anyway, maybe I’ll use this in some image I’ll create sometime soon, who knows!

There’s no post work on character or scene, except color correction and glow etc typical corrections to make image more dynamic…

Here’s a close-up of face.
Here’s a close-up of upper torso and head.
Full body frontal shot.
