New New Babe Progress Update

Sunday, November 21st, 2004

Hmph!

It’s been a struggle again - Wasted too much time on frustrating work hunt last week and re-rendering old stuff for a few magazine features… Anyway - hopefully that wasted time results into something.

New New Babe

Here are a few new test renders - Might look like nothing has changed - I re-shaped mesh flowlines and optimized mesh more and now it skins way more nicely without much of artifacts. I also quickly made a few pieces of clothing for this character so that she doesn’t have to jump around naked…

Renders are just quick hacks of previous test render studio setup. Maybe I’ll next try to work on facial animation setups…etc. Anyway it has to be something that can be recycled easily…

New New Babe

Late night…Or is it early morning… Hard to say as it’s pitch black here all day long this time of year. Anyway -

Here are a few test renders of a character design I’ve been working on last few days. I started this 2 weeks ago, but work got cut off by a short vacation I had. Something like 8 days so far, most of time went to shaping face + creating hair. I used old body as starting point, but reduced mesh resolution radically to get more easily animatable body. Face took quite a while to get look okeyish…

Boobs might look bit boxy, which is explained by missing clothing that will be there in a few days. I didn’t put anything there right now to hide body right now. I’ll also (maybe) add some morphs to shoulder so that it will look bit more natural, just like that previous character I made. Anyway, maybe I’ll use this in some image I’ll create sometime soon, who knows!

There’s no post work on character or scene, except color correction and glow etc typical corrections to make image more dynamic…

Here’s a close-up of face.
Here’s a close-up of upper torso and head.

Sonic Pulsar Music Video Contribution

Monday, November 15th, 2004

Hello all!

Something different this time - Sonic Pulsar (a Portuguese progressive rock band) guys asked if I wanted to make a scifi backdrop for their video… Being a progressive rock fan I said yes!

There’s one scene where you can see a scifi backdrop I made. Video was produced and directed by Hugo Oliveira. You can soon download a video clip from Sonic Pulsar’s official site. Below you’ll find link to official site and also direct link to video page.
